Spain has one of the oldest vehicle fleets in Europe, with an average age of more than 14 years for light vehicles and 15 years for heavy vehicles. This situation has a direct impact on key areas such as decarbonisation, road safety, and economic and industrial competitiveness.
At a time marked by the energy transition, technological transformation and increasingly demanding regulatory requirements, modernising the vehicle fleet represents a strategic opportunity to accelerate emissions reductions, introduce safer and more efficient technologies, and strengthen the resilience of the mobility and transport sector.
Fundación Repsol, in collaboration with SERNAUTO, FACONAUTO and the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), is organising this event, which will bring together institutional representatives, experts and industry stakeholders to discuss the role that vehicle fleet renewal should play in the transformation of Spain’s transport system.
In addition, the study on the impacts of renewing Spain’s vehicle fleet, prepared by SigmaDos in collaboration with Fundación Repsol, SERNAUTO, FACONAUTO and the DGT, will be presented.
