In the face of the challenge of moving towards a more sustainable, competitive, and secure energy system, renewable gases are expected to play a significant role in the energy transition, particularly in applications and sectors where electrification faces greater difficulties. Biogas, biomethane, renewable hydrogen, and synthetic gases offer different pathways to achieve this goal.
Understanding the various renewable gas production technologies, their value chains, and their main challenges and opportunities is essential to appreciating their role in the future energy system. The course will address highly relevant topics such as the development of biomethane and its connection to the circular economy, green hydrogen, the adaptation and integration of renewable gases into gas infrastructure, applications in industry and mobility, as well as new business models and the regulatory framework and guarantees of origin.
This first edition of the online Renewable Gases course, developed in collaboration with Mondragon Unibertsitatea, consists of 12 sessions and is aimed at students, professionals from the energy sector and other industries, as well as anyone interested in understanding the key aspects and opportunities of a field that is expected to play an important role in decarbonization and the transformation of the energy system.
In addition, participants will be able to obtain a micro-credential issued by Mondragon Unibertsitatea.
