Urban decarbonisation lies at the heart of the energy transition. But which public policies actually work? And how can Portugal and Spain accelerate this transformation in a way that is efficient, inclusive and economically sustainable?
In this webinar, Professor Antonio M. Bento will present international evidence on urban decarbonisation policies, examining the effectiveness of different policy instruments in transforming mobility systems, energy use and resource management.
Building on these insights, the session will continue with a discussion featuring representatives from key mobility and industrial sectors, focusing on the challenges and opportunities associated with the transition in Portugal and Spain. The conversation will explore topics such as fleet renewal, incentives for the adoption of low-emission technologies, reducing the carbon intensity of fuels, the role of infrastructure, and the alignment of public policy with private investment to accelerate decarbonisation.
