To cushion the impact of climate change, we must use all technologies currently available on the market to reduce and eliminate atmospheric CO2, while at the same time fostering the development of new, more efficient and scalable solutions. In this line of imperative innovation, the main international bodies on climate change and energy assign a key role to the so-called ‘carbon management’, under which various strategies are grouped, including carbon capture and storage (CCS), carbon capture and utilisation (CCU), nature-based solutions (NBS) and direct air CO₂ capture technologies (DAC).the implementation of these solutions poses technical, economic and regulatory challenges that will condition their role in the energy transition.
At this online event, the challenges and opportunities of CO₂ management technologies across various sectors will be discussed. Additionally, experts in the field will debate the development of these technologies in relation to energy policy, regulation, and investments within the EU and the US.
