The paper industry is an important sector in Portuguese and Spanish industry and in the economies of both countries. Portugal and Spain are large paper and pulp producers in the European Union. The Commission has proposed a new EU target for 2030 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% compared to 1990 levels. This means accelerating the reduction of emissions in the paper industry, as well as in others related to waste circularity and water saving.
The Energy Transition Chair of the Repsol Foundation at Comillas ICAI is organizing this webinar, in which this major challenge facing the paper industry will be presented, as well as the main strategies that are being implemented, along with some solutions under development.
