♻️ From used oil to sustainable biofuel

Did you know that the cooking oils we throw away can be converted into clean energy? 🍳➡️⚡ This study looks at how to harness them to produce sustainable biofuels and reduce our carbon footprint.

💡 Two paths, one goal:

  • UCOME (biodiesel by transesterification): more environmentally friendly compared to conventional diesel.
  • HVO (biodiesel by hydroprocessing): reaches its full potential when produced with green hydrogen, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

🔍 What we learned:

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) allows you to compare environmental impacts and choose the most efficient technology. The recovery of used oils is key to moving towards circular and decarbonised energy models.

✅ Transforming waste into clean energy is not only possible... it is a reality that is already driving the energy transition!
