Fundación Repsol invites you to the event of presentation of the startups selected in the 13th Call of the Entrepreneurs Fund Repsol Foundation.

At Fundación Repsol we have been supporting, through our accelerator, innovative technological startups that provide solutions to the challenges of the energy transition for more than 13 years. Since 2011 we have accelerated 77 innovative startups out of more than 6,000 startups evaluated, with a survival rate of 70%, which have developed more than 950 prototypes, have registered more than 200 patents and have obtained more than 450 million euros of public and private financing

Portugal and Spain are an example of commitment to the energy transition. Additionally,  today, there is a strong mutual economic exchange between both countries with a high growth potential. On their side, Iberian local administrations are taking advantage of European Union funds to promote energy transformation, with Porto being an example of permanent evolution. 

In this II Luso-Spanish Forum, Fundación Repsol and Fundación Corell address the opportunities for economic transformation and reindustrialization in the face of technological development driven by the Iberian commitment with energy transition.

Challenges for balancing the energy trilemma

The war in Ukraine has highlighted the rapidly evolving energy trilemma, which puts energy security before sustainability and affordability. The short- and medium-term challenges of balancing the energy trilemma are increasingly complex due to factors such as the war in Ukraine, the global energy crisis and the need to accelerate climate action. During the evento, we will explore the following questions:

  • In a decarbonized energy system, can energy sustainability, affordability and security all move in the same direction?
  • How to combine decarbonization with economic growth and employment and global competitiveness, while strengthening resilience and security of supply?
  • How can we accelerate progress towards net zero emissions targets and ensure investment in low carbon projects?
