Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) is a technology that enables the fight against climate change. It is estimated that, if widely adopted, this technology could reduce carbon emissions in Europe by 200 million tons per year, equivalent to 5% of Europe's 2018 emissions, or 7.5 billion tons of CO2 by 2050.
However, implementing this technology presents significant challenges, such as the availability and diversity of biomass residues, the adaptation of existing processes for example, in the petrochemical, electricity or paper industries or the certification of emission reductions.
The Repsol Foundation Chair on Energy Transition at Rovira i Virgili University and the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) are organizing this webinar to address these issues.
This webinar will be in Spanish.
